About Us

Welcome to Paws & Protocols, a space where veterinary medicine feels a little less mysterious and a lot more understandable.

I’m a Registered Veterinary Technician, and every day I get to be part of the quiet, behind-the-scenes work that helps pets heal, stay safe, and live healthier lives. Veterinary care is so much more than appointments and prescriptions — it’s careful monitoring, thoughtful decisions, teamwork, and the small details that matter more than most people realize. This blog is here to share that side of the story.

Here, we’ll talk about:

  • what’s happening behind the scenes during procedures
  • why veterinary teams recommend certain tests or treatments
  • how nursing care and monitoring protect your pet
  • common conditions explained in plain language
  • and the real reason clinics follow the protocols they do

If you’re a pet owner, my hope is that this helps you feel more confident and comfortable with your pet’s care. If you’re a student or future veterinary professional, I hope it gives you insight into the clinical side of the job and the thought process behind what we do.

Veterinary medicine runs on both heart and science — and the best care happens where the two meet. That’s what Paws & Protocols is all about.
